I couldn't resist sharing my birthday treats with you all! Hope you all love looking at them as much as I'll love wearing them!

Cocktails and food. A match made in heaven.

Monday, 6 October 2014

Who doesn’t love a good cocktail? Well I do. Pass me a Cosmo and we will be friends for life! My favourite place in Liverpool for cocktails is Palm Sugar in Liverpool 1. It’s a fabulous place to splash out and have a girly night in style.

What I didn’t know however was that there is a restaurant attached to it called Chaophraya (I also have absolutely no clue how to pronounce it)! Thai food. My FAVOURITE! Based on the price of the cocktails, I thought there would be absolutely no way that I could afford it. However, there is a solution. An amazing little thing called the early bird menu…
2 Courses and a glass of wine. £15. Amazing, I know.
I, however got distracted by the extensive menu and ended up sharing a starter of Prawn Satay with my mum and getting Chicken Pad Thai for my main.. DELICIOUS. (It also came to £15 so still reasonable).

Total food porn.
The décor inside is amazing, very different and well for lack of a better word, beautiful.

Yes. Fish Tank in the Bathroom.

Because we went for early bird menu, I didn’t want to wear heels and overdress so I went for some Primark flats, New Look jeans (with homemade rips in the knees) and an oversized art print silk t shirt (see earlier posts) from River Island. I teamed this with simple, straight hair, sleek with serum, and smoky eye makeup and minimal lips. Subtle yet still suitable for a night in Liverpool!

Time for a make up shake up.

Sunday, 5 October 2014

What do you get if you cross a student loan and a lot of hangover induced online shopping? A hell of a lot of new make up buys, that's what.

(Me wearing all of my shiny new make up)

I'd recently tried YSL Ink Fusion, but found that it settled a bit too powdery on my skin, so I was on the hunt for a shiny new foundation. After a bit of online searching and lots of consulting with my friends, I decided to give MAC a try. I've had MAC before and originally loved it, but eventually found that it dried my skin out quite a lot. But with all of my friends raving about MAC Studio Sculpt, I decided to give it a go. And so far, I'm in love!

As someone with blotchy skin, I prefer quite a thick foundation to give me a nice, even finish. The shade I've got, NC25, is a tad lighter than my natural skin tone, but I like to darken the shade slightly with Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I always think it's better to choose a foundation that's a bit lighter than your skin and then go darker with powder, rather than go too dark and face the dreaded mismatched face and neck situation!

After this purchase, my bank balance immediately began to scream no more! But my online basket had other ideas! I ended up with a new Mac eyebrow pencil, Mac primer and Benefit eye liner.

As someone who struggles with combination skin (greasy t zone but dry cheeks) the Prep and Prime Primer is perfect for giving me a nice even base.

The eye brow pencil is really subtle and natural. If you'e like me and have quite sparse eye brows naturally, powder can sometimes look a bit heavy on the thinner areas. But this MAC 'Fling' pencil blends really well and doesn't give you a scary 90's drawn on look!

And finally the eye liner. As part of the Benefit 'They're Real' collection, I knew that I was going to be impressed since I've been addicted to the mascara for ages! And it didn't disappoint. The gel liner is super precise and dark and, although I've heard other people complain that they found it hard to apply, I actually found the angled tip quite easy! If you're a fan of the smudgy look it's probably not for you as the gel sets and won't budge an inch. But for a super slick cat eye, it can't be beaten!

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Saturday, 4 October 2014

Clearly you know from the title, it's Lauren's Birthday! The only present worthy for our beautiful 20 year old is Chanel makeup, obviously (and no, don't worry Loz, turning 20 doesn't mean that you're a grown up)! Chanel lovers, don't fret, we are more than sure that she will be sharing some fabulous pictures on Instagram for you lovely people to see.

So Loz - Ginge, we know we can't celebrate your day with you in person, so we decided the world should know how much we LOVE you and hope you have a ball, even without us (yes, we do realise this is a challenge)!

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY LAUREN!

Lots and lots of love,
Erin and Emma xxx

It's all research...I promise!

Friday, 3 October 2014

First week of uni, first assignment. The joys.
Actually, I really shouldn't complain as my assignment was on Ted Baker. It wasn't exactly painful to have a nosey round the shop looking out for colours, design and layout...also may have been secretly shopping for Christmas party dresses, but hey its all in the name of research!
I'm always receiving exasperated tuts off friends when they find out I'm shopping again but at least now I have a valid excuse as its all extra 'research' for my course, you can quote me on that as well, my lecturer said so! HA!
So as all research does it lead me into Ted Baker and as I was studiously taking in all the layout when I couldn't help but notice a few lovely party dresses. My main weakness when it comes to clothes is floral, lace and/or sequins and Ted Baker was right on the money! If your in need of a LBD for the up and coming festive seasons then Ted Baker is the one for you, my personal fave is this little beauty, perfect as it would require minimal accessories as the dress would do all the talking.
It is a bit on the pricey side at £999 (all of the student loan!) but its soooo pretty, so ill keep on dreaming. There doesn't seem to be a colour that isn't in at the moment, so this floral and coral numbers are a close second and third in the favourites, also more reasonably priced. YAY!

I also have to share with you how lovely it is inside the shop as well, I went to a Ted Baker store and the concession in Selfridges and both are fabulous!

Lots of love,

So. Kendall Jenner..

Thursday, 2 October 2014

Kendall Jenner. Love her or hate her, there is no denying the presence she has had at the SS15 fashion weeks. She has been EVERYWHERE. And in my eyes, this is definitely not a problem. I find her to be one of the most relatable ‘ready to wear’ models, with her being 18 and having a seemingly normal body size. Okay.. not normal but you know what I mean.
I know exactly what some of you are thinking… ‘she didn’t earn it’.. ‘only a commercial model’.. ‘how has this even happened?!’.. ‘she’s a Kardashian’. Okay. Yes, we all know that she was noticed due to her family and that this will have given her a leg up into the fashion industry. But applying to her and most other things in the world, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. And I feel this is no exception.

I had been sceptical of her being considered a high fashion model since she appeared in the Marc Jacobs AW 14/15 show (we all remember the bleached eyebrows and full frontal boobs, right?). But this past month has converted me. She has proven just how willing she is to work for a name in the fashion industry, walking for so many well-known and influential designers. Givenchy, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Fendi.. just to name a few. Imagine being part of the Balmain army, front and centre at the Dolce & Gabbana finale and walking the Chanel protest.. Would you say no to Chanel?? No? Neither would i!
Front and centre at Dolce & Gabbana!
I wouldn’t call it domination but definitely recognition. Her standing in the high fashion world will be changing after this month.. I’m just waiting for the campaigns to roll in!
Now that this seasons shows are beginning to come to a close, here are a few of my favourite looks, modelled by Kendall..

Dolce & Gabbana
Dark floral and mesh. Feminine with an edge.

Balmain.. Sleek structure and beautiful cut outs.

Bottega Veneta. Wow, just wow.
Classic, understated elegance.

Wish List Wednesday

Wednesday, 1 October 2014

Take one look on Twitter and you'll soon be inundated with beautiful image after beautiful image. It's Paris Fashion Week, and that means the feed of every fashion blogger, magazine and designer is filled with pictures of beautiful gowns, luxe sports wear and a super model or too! So of course, I've been dreaming of wearing couture and swanning round the Eiffel Tower with Cara and co. Then I check my bank balance and realise I can barely afford a croissant never mind a trip across the Channel! So instead I've compiled my ultimate Paris Fashion Week wish list - the clothes that I'd buy if I was crazy rich and care free!

This embellished Louis Vuitton jacket is insanely glamorous, but somehow when paired with lace tights it becomes effortlessly cool.

Of course the Ellie Saab collection featured beautiful gown after beautiful gown, but I liked this boxy printed shift because it's so wearable - expect to see many a copy on the high street soon!

I'm a sucker for a cape, and this Alexander McQueen printed beauty is perfect, giving the typically feminine piece a really strong, structured feel (I might lose the leather face thingy though).

I could have chosen literally any look from the Valentino collection, but this intricately cut white dress immediately caught my eye. But if I was really really really rich - like Kardashian rich - then I'd be buying one of everything!

It's Givenchy. It's fringed. It's got a definite cow boy vibe. And it's jeans at bloody Paris Fashion Week!! What's not to love.

You're not anyone until you've rocked a belted Balmain look, and I just couldn't decide between the monochrome and multi coloured versions. Expect to see Rosie H-W and Kimmy K stepping out in either soon!

It was almost impossible to choose just one Chanel look, but this perfectly embellished dress was just too beautiful to ignore. Bonus points for the super tailored collar, a splash of masculinity in a otherwise feminine look.

And there you have it, my fave pics. I could have gone on for ever, but every imaginary millionaire has to have her limits!

Love always,

Emma xo
